Tasmanian Devil (placing an image)

Yaytasmanian-devil.jpgThis is a Tasmanian Devil, which I studied two years ago my first year in Middle School. It lives in Tasmania (What a surprise). It looks really cute but can be vicious and fierce to humans when they feel they are being threatened by them.

World of Peace 350

Recently the World of Peace Kids Club, which meets at lunchtimes, participated in an environmental project as part of 350.org by planting a small oak tree near where the old boat swing set used to be. We also planted two very small spruce trees in the field out back by the big rock at the far right corner of the field. These trees will help the environment and create a cleaner planet. Keep on working, World of Peace!

Swine flu?

Everyone, please please wash your hands! Something that we think might be swine flu is going around Hiland Hall, and we don’t want you to get sick too. Take care of yourself, get enough sleep, eat healthy, and WASH YOUR HANDS!!!! It makes a difference! Germs are constantly being picked up by your hands whenever you touch any object, and they will find a way into your mouth when you eat, touch your mouth, or put your hands inside your mouth. Please help yourself and others by staying healthy!

Thanksgiving, continued

Thank you to all the wonderful helpers in the school kitchen to prepare the Thanksgiving Lunch this year! Whether it was the stuffing or the pies that you contributed to in school, your help made it all come together! With so many Middle Schoolers not in school, everyone’s help was needed and you all helped so much to prepare the feast.

Trial in Town

In town after Thanksgiving break, there is going to be a crime in Maple Ridge, our school town. Middle School is now putting together a trial to be held. The Elementary group will be the jury, while the Middle Schoolers will be the defendant, attorneys, and witnesses. A parent will be invited in to be the judge. Other details are not being released to the public at this point, but more will be posted after the crime takes place and police chief Daisy releases the facts about this crime.

Thanksgiving!

The thanksgiving lunch was not as big this year as we had planned it to be. Although we had about eighty people gathered to eat lunch together on Tuesday, we missed having many people who would have been there if not for the sicknesses going around at the time. We hope these people feel better! Everyone, have a great Thanksgiving Break and enjoy the holiday!

The Volcano

Last Monday we started a new project about volcanoes. We were paired into groups of two. Katianna and I are studying Krakatoa. Ethan wanted it done by tomorrow, but we have not finished much yet. We have also worked on a debate but the debate was postponed because Carter was ill. Then it was veterans day, and I do not think we will finish before next week.

My First Year in Middle School!!!

This year is my first year in middle school. My first day I was nervoice because it was my first time moving to a differant group in this school. My first home work of the year was to write two paragraphs on Hungarian myths. I wrote almost a page on Hungarian myths then I wrote a paragraph (part of the paper) on what I think the Hungarians are like. That home work took me only an hour. After the first week of school I have been doing an hour and a half of home work a day. School is still awesome here although there is a lot of home work in middle school.
