King Lear: Congrats to the cast!

The performance of King Lear on May 20th went really well. We had a lot of strong actors this year, and that made the performance really amazing. Brendan, as King Lear, did a great job memorizing all his lines, and I think he deserves a lot of credit for that, as his part made up almost half the play. Everyone was really good, and both the people playing the main parts and the extras added a lot to the play. Congratulations to the whole cast!

Middle School Paintings

The middle school’s latest finished paintings will be on display at South Street Cafe!  Thanks to Matthew and Lauryn, the owners of the cafe, we will have our paintings on display! Yay!!!

Moose

Our moose is decorated! For the Bennington moosefest this year, we are decorating a small school moose! Daisy was the organizer of the decorating of the moose and ran all the decorating. The northgroupers traced their hands onto a blue-painted moose. Daisy filled in the hands with white, and then the south groupers decorated the hands. The middle schoolers did more decorating such as the antlers, the border of the base, and stripes around the legs. The moose will be on display at South Street Cafe.

Middle School Fundraisers

The Middle School is trying to raise money for our school trip to Cape Cod. We are having a bake sale on Tuesday, May 12th at the store Nature’s Closet, and we are having a movie night on Friday, May 8th. If you have any questions about any of our fundraisers, contact Erin or another middle schooler. We hope you can come to any of our fundraisers! We will be posting any other fundraisers that we are havng.

Thank you Ken!

Katianna’s dad Ken has been very involved in getting grants for Hiland Hall. In the past, he has gotten us a computer lab, microscopes, and other technical equipment. This year, he noticed our poor painting supplies and got a grant from an art company so that we could paint with oil paints and easels, instead of tacking our paintings to a wall or working on a table. Thanks to him we also now have our own set quality brushes and pallets. Each of us has our own set, so there are always enough for each of us to have exactly what brush we need. Now, Ken is involved, along with some other parents, in a project for getting stage lighting for our school plays. We all are very grateful to Ken for all he’s done for us and we wanted to say… THANK YOU KEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

School Play!

The school play, King Lear, will be on Wednesday, May 20th.  Thanks to Chris, we now have great sword fighting routines for the play!  He has come in several times to have acting workshops with us, two of which were directly focused on stage combat. . Hope you can come!
