First town held last friday

We had our first town of the year last friday. For the new parents town is a game that we play about once a month throughout the year. Every student has a store or lives in a house. We all get play money and spend it at the stores. This year we have a yarn store, a bakery, a cafe, a bank, a post office, and much more. We also have a town newspaper written by the Middle School.

World of Peace Kids Club 2007 has begun!

World of Peace Kids Club had it’s first meeting at lunch on the fourth of october. Led by the Hiland Hall School elementary group teacher Jessica, anyone in Hiland Hall School can join. It’s current Middle School students are Katianna, Erin, Mekdes, Daisy, and Brendan, and it’s current Elementary Group members are Samrawit, Noah, Rimmele, and Sarah. We have not decided what we are going to do for projects yet, but when we decide we will be posting details

Middle School Haunted House

If I remember correctly, Middle School has been making a Haunted House since my second year at Hiland Hall. Since this is my fifth year, this will be our third annual Haunted House.
We are still in the early planing stages, so we are not sure exactly what it will look like yet.
We’ll keep posting as more details are uncovered!

Middle School Greek Ages Presentation

This week the Middle schoolers presented their presentation to each other. Early next week Middle School is going to do a presentation for the elementary group. These presentations are going to be about the Golden Age and the Heroic Age of Ancient Greece.

New Year Equals New Students!

This year, we have a total of 31 students. Five students graduated last year, and we have seven new students. The five students who graduated last year were Dahlia, Ryan, Alec, Zoe, and Nicole. The seven new students are Hawke, Anastazia, Rimmele, Olivia, Jack, Noah, and Gaedun. The new school year has been going very well and I’m sure all the new students are feeling welcome and appreciated. Make sure to help out the new students in case they are in need of it, although I’m sure everyone has been doing a great job of that. Welcome to Hiland Hall School!

Middle School’s Ancient Greek Map

This year in Middle School we started off the year by studying Acient Greece. We made a map of Ancient Greece on the wall near the Middle School doors. We all had our own part of the map that we had to draw and when we were done drawing the map we had to research a person, place, and thing that existed or lived in Acient Greece in our part of the map. When we did all of or reseach on the person, place, and thing, we got pictures for all of those and put them around and on the map. We attached string from the picture to the place on the map that is located. Please come into the Middle School if you would like, and look at our awsome map of Ancient Greece.
